Deep Fascination with Everyday Objects

These Paintings (yes, PAINTINGS, not photographs) by Roland Hicks made me gasp.
But it isn't just their highly realistic appearance that made me appreciate them so much - it is the choice of subjects.
Who would think that a hair ball that collects dust on filthy floors can be captured so mesmerizingly? Or thought a sticky grimy gum or little bubbles on a washing soap bottle can illustrate a magnificent image?

So You Really Love Polaroids?

Who doesn't? The older they look and feel the more charming they become. Polaroids is a photography craze that never fades away. Even if we don't actually take polaroids with a polaroid camera, many of us digitally photoshop a polaroid frame to our photos. (at least, I do)
